This striking art deco and opulent venue in the heart of London is a perfect way to spend a Sunday evening or any evening for that matter, located just moments away from Piccadilly Circus. Crazy Coqs is an intimate venue where you can get seats right by the stage like being in your own large living room, which makes the whole experience all the more special.
We were superbly entertained by the Jay Rayner Quarter, Jay Rayner being an extremely talented jazz pianist and his partner Pat Gordon Smith belting out tunes from the Great American Songbook. Jay, well-known food critic and MasterChef judge, is also a great comedian. As he claimed of himself, “THE best jazz pianist of all the food critics in London!”
Crazy Coqs has various acts playing each evening throughout the year, from music to cabaret to comedy. It can be difficult to come by live music in central London that isn’t a street artist or is expensive, which means this place is always packed when a band is playing.
The evening doesn’t have to end after the show. The Brasserie Zedel has an extensive French menu to choose from. Some must-try dishes include Magret de Canard aux Légumes de Printemps – roast breast of duck, spring vegetables and a cointreau sauce; the Steak à la Bordelaise – grilled flat iron steak with a red wine and bone marrow sauce; and a whole host of desserts too!
