Hvar, a tiny island off the coast of Croatia, is rapidly becoming the new Ibiza! With its cobbled streets, sun-soaked beaches and coves, buzzing nightlife and harbour with fancy yachts idling – what more could you want for a quick break only two hours from London and a short ferry ride from the old town of Split.
First on our party list was the Hula Hula Beach Bar (just a short walk along the coastal path from Hotel Amfora), featured in the list of top quirky bars in the world together with being amongst the top 100 bars in the world. It’s a great place to lounge the day away on wooden recliners or just atop the bar stools looking out over the Adriatic, sipping a cocktail or two. The sunsets here are glorious, as are many of the revellers. There’s a mildly hedonistic vibe, great music with a live DJ playing and when the evening ends here, do not fear.
Now that the sun has set, the real party gets started again from 12.30am at Carpe Diem – a nightclub on its own little island! With guest DJs from all over the world coming to play here, it’s hugely popular. By day a beach club; by night a crazy playground. The club offers revellers a boat service from Hvar Harbour every 15 minutes. The main season being from June to September including full moon parties, so head here now. And along the way, do checkout Mojito Bar, Artichoke Wine Bar and Kiva Bar. Cheers!
